What Is A Cookie?

Cookies are a standard feature of websites. When you visit our Websites, iCIMS stores small amounts of data (i.e., text files) on your computer or mobile device to remember information about you, such as your preferences or login information. iCIMS does not use cookies to read any other information on your computer or mobile device. iCIMS also uses cookies to help us learn which areas of a Website are useful and which need improvement. We also use cookies to improve your overall experience by, for example, tailoring content to your preferences.
We also use web beacons (also referred to as “clear gifs” and “tracking pixels”), which are tiny graphics files that enable us to recognize when you have visited our Websites or opened an e-mail that we have sent you. They also generally allow us to monitor the traffic patterns of users from one page within our Websites to another, to deliver or communicate with cookies, to understand whether you have come to our Websites from an online advertisement displayed on a third-party website, to improve website performance, and to measure the success of e-mail marketing campaigns. In many instances, web beacons are reliant on cookies to function properly, and so declining cookies will impair their functioning.
We may also use local shared objects (also referred to as “flash cookies”), which are data files that can be created on your computer by websites you visit. iCIMS may use local shared objects to collect and store information about your use of our Websites, to enhance your browsing experience, or to prevent Website fraud. In this Cookie Notice, we refer to these cookies, web beacons, tracking pixels, clear gifs, and local stored objects, collectively as “cookies.”

What Cookies Do We Use?

We use the following categories of cookies with our Websites. You can learn more about each cookie category below.

  • Strictly Necessary Cookies. These cookies are necessary for the Websites to function and cannot be switched off in our systems. They are usually only set in response to actions made by you which amount to a request for services, such as setting your privacy preferences, logging in, or filling in forms. You can set your browser to block or alert you about these cookies, but then some parts of the Websites will not work.
  • Performance Cookies. These cookies allow us to count visits and traffic sources so we can measure and improve the performance of our Websites. They help us to know which pages are the most and least popular and see how visitors move around the Websites. All information these cookies collect is aggregated and therefore anonymous. If you do not allow these cookies, we will not know when you have visited our Websites and will not be able to monitor the performance of our Websites.
  • Functional Cookies. These cookies enable the Websites to provide enhanced functionality and personalization. They may be set by us or by third-party providers whose services we have added to our pages. If you do not allow these cookies, then some or all of these services may not function properly.
  • Targeting Cookies. These cookies may be set through our Websites by our advertising partners. They may be used by those companies to build a profile of your interests and show you relevant advertisements on other websites. They store uniquely identifying information about your browser and device. If you do not allow these cookies, you will experience less targeted advertising.

How We Treat Do Not Track Signals

Various browsers allow a “do not track” (DNT) setting, which sends a signal to websites visited by an individual about their browser DNT setting. At this time, there is no general agreement on how companies, like iCIMS, should interpret DNT signals. Therefore, we do not currently commit to respond to DNT signals. We will continue to monitor developments around DNT browser technology and the implementation of a standard.
