The labor market continues to cool. iCIMS August data was both a little good and a little not-so-good. While applications remained steady, so did employers’ hesitation to hire.
This increase could be related to the uptick in unemployment reported by the Bureau of Labor Statistics last month.
Applicants per opening for tech roles jumped 36% in one year, and those positions now receive, on average, double the number of applicants than the overall market.
58% of workers say that economic uncertainty and the rise of AI in the workplace would not affect their desire to secure a job in tech.
