As CTO, Smith is responsible for iCIMS’ hosting and platform strategies to support the company’s vision of becoming the industry’s No. 1 recruitment platform provider and to best serve its 1.8 million licensed users.
Smith joined iCIMS in 2015 as the company’s vice president of technology with responsibility for product management, software engineering, research, architecture and production IT. Since Smith’s arrival, iCIMS has progressed through many technological advancements, including a major transition of the provider’s data hosting infrastructure, the launch of an in-house UX/UI Design Lab, and the introduction the company’s platform-as-a-service (PaaS) framework, UNIFi.
“Since coming on board three years ago, Al has had a clear vision of iCIMS’ product lifecycle development program, our hosting environment, and how to build centers of excellence within iCIMS Labs,” said President and COO of iCIMS, Ronald Kasner. “I’m thrilled to be able to recognize Al’s achievements and impact on the organization, and am confident in his continued ability to execute for the company’s future-state,” added Kasner.
Smith comes to the role with an extensive background in software leadership. Prior to joining iCIMS, he held senior technology and executive positions at Revitas, IBM, Princeton Softech, HP, Bluestone Software, Astea and GE. His product experiences include service management, revenue management, contract management, information management, data governance and application server middleware.
“I’m both proud of how far iCIMS and our technology organization have come and excited for the challenge ahead in this new role,” said Smith. “As CTO, I welcome the increasing number of disruptions within the recruitment space as exciting drivers for our future growth and look forward to continuing to carve out a new category in talent acquisition technology with further advancements in PaaS,” Smith concluded.
