Founded in 1930, SC Fuels is one of the oldest and largest family-owned petroleum distributors in the United States. SC Fuels serves more than 11,000 customers annually, ranging from small businesses to Fortune 500 companies.

Plenty of qualified job seekers were applying to SC Fuels, but too many were dropping out of the process. This left recruiters wasting time following up with candidates who had gone dark.

SC Fuels’ recruiting team needed a way to create a better experience, help recruiters stay in touch with candidates, and automate manual and repetitive processes.

SC Fuels has gone completely paperless since switching to the iCIMS Talent Cloud. To open a position in their old ATS, recruiters used to fill out a sheet of paper, scan it, and then attach it to the job posting. With iCIMS, recruiters can open a requisition and check its status with just a few clicks.

Job postings are automatically sent to job boards. The recruiting team posts it once, and all applications feed back into iCIMS. Before, the team reviewed candidates on three, sometimes four, different platforms. This has had a positive impact on SC Fuels’ cost per hire.

SC Fuels also uses iCIMS Text Engagement to engage candidates and keep the process moving. Whether scheduling an interview or extending an offer, recruiters send updates and reminders each step of the way. If recruiters don’t get a response within 24 hours, the system automatically sends another text to remind the candidate.

Then there’s onboarding. “We literally wouldn’t be able to onboard without iCIMS,” says a Senior Human Resources Recruiter for the company.
