HR.com Recognizes iCIMS' Talent Platform as a Leading ATS in 2003 Review

Hazlet, NJ, February 24, 2003 - iCIMS' Talent Platform is one of a handful of well-equipped talent management systems aimed at and priced for the small to mid-market. iCIMS offers a fully Web-based, 100% ASP solution that can be implemented in as little as 48 hours and for just a few thousand dollars per month.

Overview
iCIMS was founded in 1999 after the owners purchased its original software (iCIMS' Talent Platform) solution from an IT staffing company called Comrise. Comrise had developed the software in about 1994 using its extensive knowledge of recruiting and the staffing industry as a guide. Since 1999, iCIMS flagship iCIMS' Talent Platform product has been enhanced through more than fifteen upgrades. The company employs twenty-five staff in its Hazlet, New Jersey and Arlington, Virginia (customer support) offices. Its main product is iCIMS , an applicant tracking system that comes in two flavors, the Staffing version for consulting and staffing companies, and the HR version for corporate HR departments.

iCIMS has always been a 100% web-based solution. It is offered in an ASP (Application Service Provider) fashion and is not available for installation or license. iCIMS has a unique partnership with Akamai in which it utilizes Akamai's 13,000+ "relay" or cache sites around the world in order to increase performance for users. Akamai caches some graphics and content for faster processing. As a result, no matter where you access the Internet, you will almost always access a local server to use the iCIMS' applications. Thus, rather than always having to route requests through New Jersey, iCIMS head office, they are routed locally, resulting is faster loading pages and better performance overall.

iCIMS added Employee Career Center and Vendor Manager modules in 2001. These iCIMS' modules are not stand-alone but they are optional. Standard features (not optional) include the resume-processing tool, which according to iCIMS, is among the best in the industry, both in terms of accuracy and pricing. iResume is not charged out on a transactional basis. iCIMS' customers can process an unlimited number of resumes per day. Akamai, for instance, also an iCIMS' customer, (switched from Webhire) sends about 500 resumes per day through iCIMS for processing. iCIMS processes resumes into its customers' resume databases/talent pools automatically. According to iCIMS it is all automated – no manual checking of files. It checks for duplicates and operators can track and monitor its performance. iCIMS claims an accuracy rate around 95% based on how "tricky" the candidate resume is (whether they leave out contact info, etc.) iCIMS recommends to its customers that they advertise their iResume "mailbox" in print. Doing so, they can use it like a pre-screening tool, inviting the ones that meet their minimum criteria to iRecruit to finish their profiles.

Market Position
iCIMS has over 100 customers. It targets organizations throughout the spectrum of small to large, and across all industries. Its customers are divided between corporate HR departments (65%) and consulting/staffing firms (35%). Recently, a higher percentage of customers are corporate HR departments.

Firms like Oakwood Homes Inc., Akamai Technologies, Rite Aid, The Delaware Department of Technology and Information, 5 by 5 Software (Canada), Imagine Broadband, Centillium Communications, Einstein Bagel Bothers, Interdigital Communications, Acco brands, Business Technology Group and Diversified Services (technical staffing agency) use all or some of iCIMS e-Recruit products.

iCIMS' customers are from across the spectrum of industries, the vast majority are small-to-mid-sized, even including some "ma and pa" type recruiting companies. Its larger customers are Oakwood Homes (10,000+) and Akamai. iCIMS latest customer wins include SunHealth, Acco, Pivotal Corporation, Harcourt, AWS (Advanced Weather Source) and InfoAdvantage. iCIMS mainly targets mid-market organizations, however, Danaher Corporation is iCIMS' newest and largest customer with approximately 23,000 employees.

iCIMS' Talent Platform and the suite of iCIMS' TMS products are available in English only at present. iCIMS has plans to offer it in Chinese and, possibly French in future.

Company Vision/Product Direction
iCIMS prides itself on listening and responding to customers. It runs customer surveys and gets feedback from its customer service department in order to drive development. iCIMS points to a recent marketing agreement with TMP Worldwide (Monster.com parent) in which a press release quotes a TMP executive as follows: "iCIMS' support of the Job VIPeR product, as well as their attention to the highest levels of customer support and system reliability, speaks highly to their dedication to offer their clients the best in recruiting solutions, that said, they've earned a reputation based on listening to clients."

iCIMS relationship with TMP has put it in a place where it can work with bigger clients. To date, the vast majority of iCIMS' clients have been on the smaller side of what is usually considered to be the mid-market. They insist, however, that their solutions are fully scalable even to the largest companies – recent customer wins, among clients with up to 20,000 employees, support that claim.

iCIMS deal with TMP came after a process in which TMP apparently evaluated it against other contending ATS/TMS vendors. iCIMS was chosen as one of several. As part of the partnership, iCIMS has integrated TMP's Job VIPeR job distribution/blasting service with iCIMS in an "exclusive" arrangement (meaning it is the only job distribution tool marketed to iCIMS' customers, they can still access eQuest and WhoToChoose).

TMP has made numerous similar deals with many of iCIMS' competitors. Normally they may not amount to much, but given iCIMS position in the market, it appears to be benefiting significantly from the additional exposure and referrals that TMP provides. In fact Senior Marketing Manager, Adam Feigenbaum, says that the relationship is extremely valuable to iCIMS and has resulted in several sales so far.
