Oxy recruiters received several thousand resumes each year, but felt it was difficult to maintain records for these interested candidates. Oxy’s somewhat manual hiring management process was extremely time-consuming and provided little overall value to recruiters who sought to find great candidates in a short period of time.

Another issue at Oxy was a lack of collaboration among recruiters, applicants, and hiring managers. Recruiters felt their communication with other members of the hiring process was limited. Plus, the Oxy website did not include a career portal for interested candidates to explore open jobs. This significantly reduced the applicant pool from which recruiters could select. Furthermore, Oxy recruiters knew that competitors who were able to post jobs to their corporate website had an edge over Oxy in finding great talent quickly. Oxy’s final issue was a significant challenge—the corporation had to streamline its recruitment efforts across its worldwide locations. With about a third of its recruiters in the Middle East, Oxy needed to find a solution that would facilitate a consistent hiring process around the globe. Each site had specialized needs, including screening questions that were unique to each location. Oxy recruiters set out to find a solution that would address all of its recruitment challenges, both domestically and abroad.

After a thorough evaluation of vendors, recruiters decided iCIMS was the ideal provider. Hill and her manager were so impressed with iCIMS that they successfully pitched the system to other divisions of the corporation.
