Today's guest blog post comes to you from Phil Rodriguez, a Solutions Consultant at iCIMS. On September 21st, Phil attended The Meeting of the Minds networking event in Dallas, Texas as an iCIMS Representative. This event was the restaurant industry’s largest gathering of restaurant and hospitality Recruiting / HR Professionals. Attendees discussed current topics and recruiting trends impacting the restaurant and hospitality industry.

As you may know, I recently attended the Meeting of the Minds conference held in Dallas, TX for Directors and Vice Presidents of Recruiting and Talent Acquisition in the food and restaurant industry. This is iCIMS' fourth year attending (vendors are able to attend/sponsor by invite only) and we were the only true ATS present (although Batrus Hollweg was also there and they have recently purchased a different ATS). Clients such as Whole Foods, Dave & Busters, and Corner Bakery were in attendance as were partners such as Jobing.com and ESS. As far as attendees, there were restaurants ranging from Texas Roadhouse, Taco Cabana and Applebee's to Brinker International (Chili's) and Whataburger. It was a great turnout.

It is my belief that this is the year iCIMS' involvement in this market and with this conference in particular will pay off. Self Opportunity who runs the conference has always been appreciative of our participation and as such, has always gone out of their way to make introductions to prospects. Our current clients are very satisfied with iCIMS (partially thanks to great CRD involvement) and as such, were eager to speak highly of iCIMS' customer support and service offerings to other conference attendees. Moreover, partners were also there making introductions! In addition to having prospects drop by our booth, I was sure to actively network, solicit partner intros, and participate in breakout sessions in order to get the best yield out of this conference. As a result, we are already setting up demos and follow ups. I am pretty excited that iCIMS is such a good fit for this industry and will be sure to keep everyone abreast of any further developments as we continue to build out our presence in the food and restaurant industry.
